Bed Wetting - Time To See A Doctor?
You have tried everything, yet your child is still not able to make it through the night without wetting the bed. It may be time to see a doctor, since there may be a medical condition that is causing your child to wet the bed.
If your son or daughter wets the bed, you may want to take another look at their daytime bathroom habits. Indicators you should look for is if your child shows urgency whenever they go to the bathroom, if they are often holding their urine, if they have leakage, or if they suffer from constipation during the day. If you see most of these signs, you may want to take your child to the pediatrician for a quick check up.
How to tell if your child needs to visit the pediatrician:
• Your child is upset or troubled by the fact that they wet the bed – even if the child is too young to be concerned, sometimes it helps the child to talk to the pediatrician, so they know they are normal • Your child is 7 years old or older, and rarely or never stays dry overnight • Your child or teen has begun bedwetting after having had a period of time without bed wetting • You are troubled or frustrated by the bed wetting – sometimes, its good to get a little outside perspective • Your child also has frequent accidents during the day • Your child or teen is often constipated
